An employee of the State of Georgia was attending a work conference away from home. She fell down because of uneven pavement and severely injured both her neck and back. We helped select a treating physician who testified that she was unable to return to work in any capacity due to her injuries. She was successful in obtaining social security disability benefits. Her home was dangerous and unsafe to such an extent that it needed major repairs and modifications. As a result of our efforts, the client was declared Catastrophic by the Board. The case settled for $280,000 and a Medicare set aside account of $173,000.
