Start with what matters now

Injured on the job?
Take these first steps.

  1. Report the injury.

Tell your supervisor promptly, and keep a written record. Georgia generally requires notice within 30 days; waiting can put benefits at risk.

  2. Get medical care.

In an emergency, get help immediately. For other care, ask your employer about authorized doctors or its workers’ compensation managed care plan.

  3. Keep the details.

Save injury reports, treatment records, work restrictions, wage information, and insurance letters. Bring what you have to your consultation.

Reporting an injury and filing a claim are separate steps. See the deadline questions below or ask us to review your situation.

Understand what may be available

Support for your recovery.
And your everyday life.

Benefits depend on your injury, employment, and claim. We help you understand the issues affecting your care and income.

Medical treatment

Authorized care for a covered work injury, which may include appointments, prescriptions, surgery, and rehabilitation.

Lost income

Partial wage replacement when an eligible injury prevents you from working or reduces what you can earn.

Lasting impairment

Additional benefits may apply when a work injury causes permanent impairment.

Not sure whether your employer has coverage or your injury qualifies? Those are questions we can help you work through.

Ask About Your Claim

Representation beyond the paperwork

When the process gets difficult,
we stay involved.

An accepted claim can still bring questions about treatment, missed pay, or returning to work. A denied claim can leave you wondering where to turn.

Our work starts with understanding what happened and what you need. From there, we help you make sense of the claim and the decisions ahead.

Clear answers. A place to begin.

You have questions.
Let’s work through them.

These answers are a starting point. The details of your injury and claim determine which rules apply.

Ask About Your Situation

What if my claim has been denied?

A denial does not necessarily end your claim. You may request a hearing before the State Board of Workers’ Compensation. Bring the denial letter and claim records so we can review the dispute and deadlines.

How long do I have to file a claim?

A claim generally must be filed within one year of the accident. Authorized medical treatment, prior benefit payments, and other circumstances can affect the deadline. Have your dates reviewed promptly.

Can I use my own doctor?

For nonemergency treatment, follow the authorized provider or managed care process. In an emergency, get help immediately and ask about authorized follow-up care afterward.

What if my doctor releases me to light duty?

Ask for written restrictions and the proposed job duties. We can review questions about the job offer, your medical limits, and how returning to work may affect your claim.

Does every employer have to carry coverage?

Georgia generally requires businesses with three or more employees, including regular part-time workers, to carry coverage. Exceptions and employment status can matter.

What does it cost to talk with you?

Your initial consultation is free. We earn an attorney’s fee only if we obtain a financial recovery for you, and we advance the costs of pursuing your case. Ask us to explain the fee agreement and how case expenses are handled.

What should I bring to the consultation?

Bring what you have: injury reports, medical records, work restrictions, wage statements, and letters from the employer or insurer. You can still contact us if you do not have all the paperwork.

A free consultation. A clear next step.
